MEET OUR STAFF!

Heather Polanco has over 20 years of experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), providing services to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. She has her Master’s degree in ABA and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Heather began her career working in home, clinic, and school settings where she developed and coordinated educational, behavioral, and social programs for children and adolescents. She spent the last 10 years working in the public school setting for both Manhattan Beach Unified School District and Irvine Unified School District as a Behavior Specialist. While in the school district, Heather trained, coached, and consulted with teachers, support staff, service providers, and administration on the implementation of Evidence-Based Practices, as well as implementation of ABA curriculum. Heather joined Innovate ABA in October of 2021 as the Learning & Development Coordinator providing training to new behavior therapists and ongoing training and professional development to existing staff. She has a passion for teaching and training behavior therapists and watching them grow professionally! When Heather is not working she’s typically at the beach in San Clemente with her kids and husband or at the soccer field, pool, baseball field, or skatepark watching all her kids’ extracurricular activities.

Rhonda is the Director of Operations at Innovate ABA. She graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UCI, where she discovered her passion for helping children and their families. She began her career in the field of Behavior Management as a Behavior Specialist at the Child Development School at UCI, working with elementary students diagnosed with ADHD and Autism. In addition to her time at UCI, she worked as a Direct Therapist for multiple ABA agencies, as well as a school for children with autism.
Prior to working with kids, Rhonda worked in the field of Financial Planning. She uses her years of business management and financial planning experience along with the knowledge she gained in the field of ABA to continue helping families and staff on the administrative side of Innovate.
Outside of work, Rhonda loves spending time running (half marathons, local trails and the beach are her favorite running scenes), doing yoga and embroidery, watching baseball, and spending time with her family.

Lianna graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. In the first 6 years of her career she grew as a sales account executive, but felt drawn to put her people skills towards something with a more meaningful impact. Here at Innovate, Lianna serves as a communication liaison between families, staff, and management. She is loving learning about all things ABA, supporting our incredible staff, and constantly being in awe of the growth our kiddos display every day. She's also worked closely with children for many years, from nannying to summer camp counselor.
For fun beyond the office, Lianna loves whipping up a dinner party spread (whether it be for a group of friends or just her and her husband), cuddling her Scottish Fold cat, and trying every cool coffee shop in Orange County.

In my free time I enjoy going to spin class, rollerblading with my dog, rock climbing, going to coffee shops, and planning my next travel adventures!
My love and passion for working with children started early and has grown throughout my life. I was a teacher aide for Kindergarten - 2nd Grade classes since I was in Middle school. In high school I had the privilege of working for the United States Embassy in Qatar & Belgium, where my love for diversity sprouted. Through my undergrad career I volunteered at the Boys & Girls Club and Girls On The Run after school programs. I was also a Research Analyst with the Social Science sector to find a correlation between family relationships and self-confidence within middle schoolers in Orange County. At the start of my career I was a Preschool teacher by day and Behavioral Therapist by night.
My love for ABA started in 2016 when I found the perfect blend of all of my passions. I am able to work with children, teach life skills, build true connections, help families, and most importantly have fun! Since then I have continued to do direct therapy, assist supervisors, shadow in private & public schools, lead multiple groups, consult with parents, supervise my own cases, and create individualized goals. As a Clinical Mentor at Innovate, I hope to cultivate a welcoming environment for our kiddos, families, and staff at every part in their own journey.

My name is Natalie Moreno and I have been in the ABA field for about 5 years. I primarily have worked with adolescents in the home setting and am now expanding my experience to clinic! I love ABA and being in this specific field because of the everyday changes we have the ability to make and the positive impact we have with our clients and families; it's a collaborative effort and it pays off beautifully. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Adolescent Psychology from Mount St. Mary's University and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (ABA) from Arizona State University. On my free time I enjoy going to the movies, spending time with my friends, family and dogs.

Hi! My name is Kelly Choi and I am a clinical mentor! I obtained my Bachelor's in Psychology at UC Irvine, and my Master's in ABA at Ball State University. I have been in the field of ABA for almost three years. My passion for ABA began in 2019 when I started out as a behavior technician. I love being able to improve the quality of children's lives through teaching new skills, shaping behaviors and promoting independence! When I'm not at work, I enjoy hiking, going to the beach, knitting and spending time with my friends and family.

I've been in the field of ABA since 2019. I have a creative educational background with a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Media and a Masters Degree in Counseling with an emphasis in ABA. I've been working with kids ever since I was in middle school from teaching Sunday School to nannying to being a swim coach. I love ABA because the smallest things make the biggest difference in this field. We get to be creative and have fun while working towards functional and independent goals with our kiddos! When I'm not spending time with our kiddos, I'm most likely having a yummy meal with loved ones, at home working on some DIY projects, or somewhere out on the town with my film camera in hand.

Hi, I’m Jonica. I’ve been in the field since 2021 and I am currently in my Master’s program for ABA as well. I found a passion as a behavior therapist through making connections with our kids and studying the intricate science of behavior. It is an honor to be able to provide a tailored plan of care for each individual child and to watch their growth. In my free time, I love going to the movies or baking sweet treats

Alejandra Ruiz graduated with a double major in Criminal Justice and Psychology from CSUF. Having been in the field since 2017, she has found great joy in aiding and developing young minds and fostering meaningful relationships with all children. Throughout her ABA journey beginning in 2017, Aly has been privileged to help children between the ages of 2-8, providing home sessions, support in school settings, and community outings. Aly also led social skills groups, developed and trained new therapists in the field, and supported and guided families through parent consultations. In 2021, Aly joined the Innovate ABA team and continued her growth in helping cultivate upcoming therapists, supporting and leading groups, and joining the clinical team as an Assistant Case Manager.
Along with her love of ABA, she also loves Pro Wrestling and enjoys spending quality time with her son and husband, going to parks, biking, and discovering libraries and bookstores.

Hi! My name is Mai. I'm the scheduler at Innovate ABA. I have Master's degrees in neuroscience and occupational therapy. After working as an OT in several different fields including pediatrics, I became interested in ABA because of its evidence and data based practice. Currently I'm not directly working with kids, but pediatrics has always been my strongest interest and I'm very fortunate to be able to work at Innovate. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family of 6 (2 boys and 2 dogs), hiking, reading, playing music, and practicing archery.
