FAQ
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a research-backed approach that helps children learn new skills and grow with confidence. At Innovate ABA, our therapy is play-based and tailored to each student, so sessions often look more like fun, engaging activities than traditional therapy.
ABA can be a wonderful fit for children with an autism diagnosis or developmental delays affecting communication, social skills, or daily routines. The best way to find out is to schedule a free consultation. We'll get to know your family and help you understand your options, even if ABA isn't the right next step.
There's no wrong age to begin. Research supports starting in early childhood when learning happens quickly, but we work with students at many developmental stages and tailor our approach to each one.
We have several reputable professionals we work closely with who can assist with evaluating and diagnosing your child. Please call or email us for referrals.
It's a simple three-step process: schedule a free consultation, complete an insurance verification and assessment, then begin therapy with your matched team. We'll guide you through every step.
Yes. California law requires most health plans to cover ABA therapy for children diagnosed with autism, and we work with most major insurance providers and Medi-Cal. We'll verify your benefits before services begin so there are no surprises.
Most insurance plans require a formal autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis from a qualified medical or psychological professional in order to cover ABA therapy. If your child doesn't have a diagnosis yet, that's okay. We can point you toward trusted evaluators in your area, and your child may still qualify for ABA services through your local Regional Center even without insurance coverage.
It depends on your specific plan. We'll walk you through your benefits, including any copays or deductibles, before therapy begins so you know exactly what to expect.
For the last six years, Innovate ABA has had the privilege of supporting families across Orange County and San Diego. We're a BCBA-owned, family-built practice with heart at the center of every decision. Our warm, play-based approach is designed around each student's strengths, helping their potential unfold one moment at a time.
We meet students where they are, literally. We offer in-home, in-school, in-clinic, and community-based therapy across Orange County and San Diego. Your child's therapy setting is chosen based on what best supports their growth.
This is determined during your child's initial assessment and is unique to each student. Your BCBA will recommend a treatment plan based on your child's needs and your family's goals, and we'll review it with you in detail.
Your child will work with a Behavior Therapist (BT) who provides day-to-day therapy, supervised by a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) who designs and oversees the treatment plan. You'll meet your team before therapy starts.
Yes, and we hope you will be. Parent involvement is one of the strongest predictors of student progress, so we offer regular parent coaching, progress updates, and chances to observe sessions.
Your BCBA collects data at every session and shares regular progress updates with you. We also schedule formal review meetings to celebrate wins, adjust goals, and make sure therapy continues to serve your child and family well.
Every student's journey is different. Some children benefit from a few months of focused support, while others continue for several years. From the start, we work toward clear goals so you and your child have a path forward, and we discuss progress and transitions openly along the way.
Yes! Our sister company, Innovate Speech, provides pediatric speech and language therapy out of our Irvine location. Families often benefit from coordinated care across both teams, and we make collaboration easy.
